# Treatment depends on the cause: If the cause is drugs, the drug was stopped immediately
# If the cause is nerve damage, a drug given through the spinal
# If the cause is a blood clot, surgery to remove a blood clot, or to make a bypass so that the circulation of the penis back to normal.

In most cases with excessive bloodletting from the penis with a needle (aspiration) and cleanse the blood vessels with a liquid to remove the clot or other stopper.

If Priapism lasted less than four hours may be given medication decongestants (eg pseudoephedrin and terbutaline), which works by reducing blood flow to the penis.
